Hardin's River Mercantile is a small, local fresh foods specialist located in the downtown River Market, inside Market Hall and adjacent to the Farmer's Market. We are open six days a week from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and closed on Sunday. The business is owned by me, Jody Hardin. I am a fifth generation farmer, working to establish a sustainable central market for small farmer's in Arkansas. Through my partnership with the City of Little Rock, and the tremendous effort of the River Market manager, we have endeavored to bring to you a consistent supply of local foods, on a seasonal basis, while providing a showcase for Arkansas farmer's in the heart of the states' busiest tourist destination. Additionally, we offer a sampleing and salad bar that features ready to eat items fresh from a local farm or garden, whenever possible. new Turkey Club CSA Join our Turkey Club CSA program and select your own rare breed turkey chick. We'll raise it for you and deliver it to you the week of thanksgiving ready for the oven. For now you can email us and we will send you to the new link, or put you on the waiting list. Also, you can click on the link below and see the rare breeds offered by the hatchery where we will buy our chicks. You will be required to put down a $20 deposit, and the birds will be sold at $2.75 per lb. upon delivery, minus your deposit. We want to offer you a completely organic rare breed turkey to really make your holiday meal this year special. You will have visitation rights to your turkey, and we will offer a pardon for a small fee, and your turkey can live out the rest of his or her life on our farm. These turkeys will be raised humanely, and fed a natural diet of grass and insects at Foodshed Farm in Grady, Arkansas. Look at the catalog on the link below, read about the different sizes of each breed especially, then email us with the one you have selected. You can order several turkeys if you want. Space is limited to 100. We will try to call or email a confirmation within a day of receiving your email. Deadline to select your chick is March 1, 2007. http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/category/turkeys.html
